Began in 1897 as the local telephone company - Chester Telephone Company.

By 1936, our company continued to grow and reached nearly 1,000 telephones.

In 1953, a new general office building was erected at 112 York Street in Chester.

The Chester exchange was converted to a dial system, completing the transition to dial from manual switch boards.

In 1966, a network was completed which extended from Chester to Great Falls, Lewisville, Lowrys and Blackstock to provide local calling.

From 1966 to 1968, Direct Distance Dialing was established in Chester and was extended to all telephone company exchanges in 1968.

By 1989, Chester Long Distance, Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary, was organized to provide long distance services in its equal access areas.

In 1990, we joined with other cellular telephone companies in South Carolina to explore new technologies and combine resources to provide new services at cost effective levels.
